ESC was founded in 2010 by Stacy Palestrant (BA, Wellesley & MBA, University of Chicago Booth) and Tomer Rothschild (BA, Wesleyan & MBA, University of Pennsylvania Wharton). Our company educates Chinese high school students about their undergraduate options in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, and then helps them prepare strategic and compelling applications. We are currently hiring for two positions: Consultant for Junior Scholars and Consultant for Senior Scholars.

Consultants for Junior Scholars work with students in grades 9-11. They identify strengths and weaknesses in students’ profiles. Consultants then develop individualized strategies to improve students’ chances of admission at top colleges and universities by helping them develop their academic interests and extracurricular activities, plan for standardized test preparation, and cultivate skills for personal goal setting and achievement. 

Consultants for Senior Scholars are paired with students in grade 12, guiding them through the American college application process. They make data-driven recommendations about which schools each student should apply to based on extensive ESC data and their understanding of the student’s interests and personality. They then work one-on-one with students to help them identify and achieve their educational aspirations by brainstorming essay ideas, developing their writing ability, and practicing interviewing skills. Both positions are based in Beijing. To qualify, you must be a graduate of a top American, Canadian, or UK university, be an excellent oral and written communicator, have strong client-facing skills, be able to work in a fast-paced, intercultural environment, and demonstrate a commitment to ethical, educational admissions consulting.
